Hearing to lower sales tax, apply it to services

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Wednesday, Nebraska’s Legislature’s Revenue Committee held a 9:30 a.m. hearing for a bill that could lower our sales tax.

State Senator Tom Briese introduced the bill to lower the sales tax rate and expand sales tax to include services, like advertising.

Basically, overall all sales tax rates will be lowered, but more Nebraska industries will be taxed.

Briese introduced a similar bill last year, but it did not advance out of committee.
