Lots of heat the rest of the week
Heat and humidity is going to be the main concern through the rest of the week and into the weekend.
A Heat Advisory is in place for SE Nebraska into Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas. This goes into effect Wednesday afternoon and lasts through Thursday. It’s certainly possible we see it extended into Friday and possibly the weekend.
Highs across the state will be very close to 90, but southeast Nebraska will be a little warmer and in the mid to upper 90s.
The dew points will be in the mid 60s, so it’s going to be a little humid. With that, the heat index will climb into the low 100s Wednesday afternoon in SE Nebraska.
Thursday will be a similar story. Maybe even a little warmer.
The heat index will once again be in the triple digits Thursday afternoon in eastern Nebraska.
