LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities on Tuesday provided an update on a south Lincoln shooting that left two people in critical condition.

The shooting happened outside the Edgewood Cinema near 56th and Hwy. 2 around 8 p.m. Monday.

Lincoln Police say people inside two vehicles began shooting at each other.

LPD says a 19-year-old man inside a black Mercedes was shot in the face.

An 18-year-old was found laying in the parking lot with a gunshot to his hip area, police say.

Police say another 18-year-old, who was uninjured, identified himself as being with the other teens.

Investigators say they believe the three men met another vehicle that had multiple people inside before the gunfire was exchanged.

Police did recover multiple firearms at the scene.

Investigators are still working to determine the timeline of events and what precipitated the shooting.

Police called the shooting “targeted,” and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

No arrests have been made.
