Man Shot By Grand Island Police
A Grand Island man is dead after exchanging gunfire with police. Around 10:30 pm Monday night police responded to a call from neighbors of a man with a gun.
Robert Barrett Jr., 62 came out of his house with a rifle, and was shot and killed by police. The neighbor who called police says Barrett's wife arrived on his doorstep frantic, saying her husband was shooting in the basement. A grand jury will be convened, but officials say the preliminary investigation indicates that officers followed policy.
