Man tried stealing granola bars, cigars after breaking into Lincoln home, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man broke into a Lincoln home on Monday and tried to steal granola bars and cigars, police say.
Around 10:10 p.m., a man was sitting in the living room of his home near 33rd and South Streets when he heard the fridge door open.
He originally thought it was a family member getting food but when he went to investigate, there was an unknown man hiding in the kitchen.
Police say the victim then followed the trespasser outside of the home and took back the granola bars and cigars that he had stolen.
Nearby, officers found a 42-year-old man who matched the description given by the victim and arrested him on suspicion of burglary.
