Marcus Theatres, a division of The Marcus Corporation is temporarily closing its South Pointe Cinema for a two-week period starting Feb. 1, due to heavy construction.  During this time, guests can continue to see movies at one of the nearby Lincoln theatres, including Marcus Lincoln Grand, East Park or Edgewood Cinemas.  Although it still will be under construction, South Pointe Cinema will reopen the evening of Feb. 12.

Renovations at the theatre began late last year when two existing screens were converted to SuperScreen DLX? auditoriums.  These auditoriums feature oversized screens, Dolby® Atmos® multidimensional sound for a lifelike, virtual soundscape and DreamLoungerSMrecliner seating for increased comfort and legroom.  To continue to add to the guest experience, additional remodeling is planned for a Spring completion.  When the renovation is finished, South Pointe Cinema will have DreamLoungers throughout all the auditoriums, a lobby and concession update, new carpet and lighting and a great new food and beverage option inspired by iconic diners of the 50’s, called Reel Sizzle.  It will offer classic menu items, including burgers, fries, chicken tenders and shakes.

From Feb. 1-12, Theatre Guests Can Enjoy Movies at Nearby Marcus Lincoln Grand, East Park and Edgewood Cinemas
