A Couple Pleasant Summer Days Ahead
Sunshine and seasonal temperatures headline the forecast for Monday and Tuesday. Heat, humidity and chances for storms return to the eastern half of the state on Wednesday.
The latest runs of StormCast keep us mostly quiet through the start of the week. South-central Nebraska may see a glancing blow from a shower or storm early Tuesday morning.
For mid-June, Sunday night will be on the cooler side as low temperatures drop to the lower 40s and 50s across the state.
Clear skies are expected to continue into the overnight hours for Lincoln. Winds should also diminish after sunset, making for a quiet and cool close to the work week.
We gain a couple of degrees for our high temperatures across the state on Monday, with winds shifting to be out of the west.
Expect a fair amount of sunshine once again in the Capital City for your Monday afternoon. Temperatures will reside in the 80s for the majority of the afternoon.
Our next best chance of precipitation holds off until Wednesday, with storms possible as a couple of disturbances pass through the northern plains. Cooler air is expected to fill in behind these systems, which will briefly return highs back to the lower 80s. Father’s Day weekend looks like a mixed bag of warm temperatures and storm chances, though more forecast clarity is expected as we get closer.
