Matt Rhule completes Husker coaching staff with three hires
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Matt Rhule has finished the puzzle.
On Wednesday, Rhule announced the last three additions to his Husker coaching staff: Bob Wager, Rob Dvoracek and Garrett McGuire.
Wager will lead the tight ends, Dvoracek will guide the linebackers, and McGuire will serve as the wide receivers coach.
“I am proud to add three more outstanding football coaches to our Nebraska staff,” Rhule said in a press release. “Bob’s experience as a head coach will be invaluable for me, and Rob and Garret’s experience in the NFL will help our student-athletes as they chase their goals to play at the highest level.”
Last week, Wager confirmed that he joined the Nebraska staff with a new profile picture on Twitter.
For the last 17 seasons, Wager led the Arlington Martin High School football team in Texas, where he took the Warriors to the playoffs in each season.
Wager has been instrumental in helping develop several FBS and NFL players, including the Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett.

Dvoracek spent the last two seasons under Rhule with the Carolina Panthers. He also spent another two seasons with Rhule at Baylor.
McGuire also coached at Carolina, where he served as an offensive assistant for two seasons.
“Each of the three coaches bring great energy to Nebraska and will fit our program very well,” Rhule said. “I am excited to have all our full-time assistants on board as we finish up the 2023 recruiting cycle and begin to work toward the start of spring practice.”
The three coaches join Tony White, Marcus Satterfield, E.J. Barthel, Terrance Knighton, Evan Cooper, Ed Foley, Corey Campbell and Donovan Raiola.
