Midday Interview: Avenue of Flags Fundraiser in Beatrice

The Beatrice American Legion Post No. 27 is accepting donation to purchase more than 360 all-weather flags for its courthouse and Veteran's Memorial Park. 

BEATRICE, Neb. (KLKN) — The Beatrice American Legion Post No. 27 is accepting donation to purchase more than 360 all-weather flags for its courthouse and Veteran’s Memorial Park.

The organization hasn’t been able to raise flags if there is a threat of rain because it’s worried about the flags detoriating.

Scott Bates, a Gage County Veterans Services officer, and Gerald Lamkin, the commander of Beatrice Legion Post No. 27, joined Channel 8 news at midday to talk about the event.
