Midday Interview: Light the Capitol Blue Preview

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A special event will be held Friday night in Lincoln as the Nebraska Cancer Coalition and the Lancaster County Crusade Against Cancer hosts the “Light the Capitol Blue” event to raise awareness for colon cancer.

Christina Hitz with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department joined Channel 8 News at midday to preview the event.

If you choose to attend, LLCHD is asking you to:

  • Wear blue (March 4th is National Dress in Blue Day).
  • Welcome from NC2 leadership, remarks from family member of former CRC survivor and message from Dr. Kailash Mosalpuria.
  • Walk around the Capitol & take your photo of the rare sight of the Capitol lit blue.

The event will be held on the West side of the Capitol and begins at 7:00 p.m.
