Motorcyclist crashed into east Lincoln ditch during chase with trooper, patrol says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities are searching for a motorcyclist who ran off after driving into a ditch in east Lincoln on Monday.
Around 10:50 p.m., a trooper was patrolling near 70th Street and Cornhusker Highway when he saw a motorcycle speed by.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the trooper tried to pull over the motorcyclist when he turned into a nearby parking lot.
But the man refused to stop and sped off, eventually losing control and driving into a ditch, according to the patrol.
As the trooper called in for help, the motorcyclist ran away.
Officers with the Lincoln Police Department searched the area for about an hour but could not find the man.
During the search, troopers found a leather jacket that had meth and a glass pipe inside, the patrol said.
The motorcycle was taken into evidence, and the investigation is ongoing.
