Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle accident in Lincoln
LPD says it happened near 1st and Adams street around 10:45 p.m. on Monday. The man reportedly lost control of his motorcycle at the roundabout, falling off his vehicle.
UPDATE- Officials identify the motorcyclist killed in the crash Monday night. Police stated 61-year-old Kevin Ginger of Lincoln passed in the hospital after sustaining substantial in the accident.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln police say one man has died after losing control of his motorcycle late Monday night.
LPD says it happened near 1st and Adams street around 10:45 p.m. on Monday. Emergency crews found a 61-year-old man, unresponsive at the scene.
He was transported to Bryan West hospital where he later died from his injuries.
According to the investigation, the man was driving his 2009 black Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on north 1st Street. As the motorcycle approached the roundabout at Adams Street, it collided with the outside curb and the driver was thrown from the motorcycle.
Police will not release the victim’s name until next-of-kin are notified.
Police say they are still investigating the cause of the accident. No other vehicle was involved in the crash and the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
