Nebraska adding to bullpen with Texas A&M transfer Will Rizzo

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Huskers have added another member to their bullpen with a transfer from Texas A&M.

Will Rizzo announced via Twitter on Thursday that he would be continuing his academic and baseball career with the Huskers.

The Woodlands, Texas, native redshirted during his 2022 season with the Aggies, 247Sports reports.  He will have four years of eligibility to use at Nebraska.

The 6-foot-1 right-hander has spent the summer with the Eau Claire Express in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer wooden bat league.

Rizzo holds a 3.32 ERA with 19 innings pitched in six games this season.  This also includes 19 strikeouts by the pitcher.

Will Bolt also spent time with the Aggies, serving as an assistant coach for five seasons before coming back to Nebraska as head coach.

In late June, Wichita State pitcher Jace Kaminska announced he would transfer to Nebraska.

After a disappointing season, the Huskers lost multiple players to the transfer portal, including Cam ChickKoty Frank and Leighton Banjoff.
