Nebraska football’s game against Illinois moved to Oct. 6

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska football will now play three weekday games next season.

On Monday, the Big Ten announced that Nebraska will face Illinois in Champaign on Oct. 6, a Friday.  The kickoff time has not yet been announced.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday.

This isn’t the first time Nebraska has played Illinois on a Friday.  In 2017, the Huskers defeated the Fighting Illini 28-6 in Champaign.

Next season, the Huskers also face Minnesota in a Thursday season opener and Iowa on Black Friday.
