Nebraska man sentenced for producing child pornography

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska man was sentenced Friday to 19 years in prison for producing child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday that 36-year-old Matthew French of Garland will serve 12 years on supervised release after his prison sentence and is required to register as a sex offender.
There is no parole in the federal system.
French was identified as the sender of an email that was intercepted by a Butler County school.
The e-mail was intended for minor students and contained sexually explicit language and requests for sexually related information and photos of the minor, according the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Investigators learned that French would meet minors through his small business, from other minors or through Snapchat. He offered “odd easy work” as an opportunity to make money, authorities say.
French would provide a fictional address email to the minors and say that this fictional person wrote sex stories online and wanted to use the minors’ information.
He would pose as the third person and send the minor a survey with sexual questions, indicating that the minors would be paid for responding.
Options were given to make more money if the minor took certain sexually related photographs.
Investigators discovered copious sexually explicit files and were able to identify four victims who provided sexually explicit images or videos to French.
