Nebraska quarterback Richard Torres enters transfer portal

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska quarterback Richard Torres announced Tuesday that he has entered the transfer portal.

Torres, who came to Nebraska in 2022, has not played in any regular-season games.  But he did make an appearance in Saturday’s spring game.

The Texas native had the most snaps at QB for the red team, completing nine passes for 66 yards.  He split time at QB with Chubba Purdy.

Nebraska now has five quarterbacks – including Purdy, Jeff Sims and Casey Thompson – remaining on its roster.

Head coach Matt Rhule has not yet said who will start at QB in the fall.
