Nebraska school employee gets decades in prison for sexually abusing student

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A western Nebraska school employee could spend up to 35 years behind bars for sexually abusing a student.

The Nebraska Attorney General’s Office said Thursday that 39-year-old Joel Foster was sentenced for first-degree sexual assault of a child.

Foster, who pleaded guilty to the charge, was an employee at South Platte High School in Big Springs.

The attorney general’s office says Foster used his position as an employee to abuse the student.
