LINCOLN — Twenty eight of Nebraska’s 49 state senators have signed a letter to Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren urging the conference to reconsider its decision to postpone fall sports.

The letter has been put together by Sen. Julie Slama of legislative district 1.

“Give these student athletes a chance,” Slama tweeted. “Let them play.”

Currently, eight Husker football players are suing the Big Ten for more transparency regarding its decision to postpone the fall football season. The conference has until Friday to release the required information ordered by Judge Susan Strong of Lancaster County District Court.
