Friends and Family gathered at Frontier Harley Davidson on Friday to honor hit and run victim Gabe Wilken.
The Lincoln motorcyclist was killed last Friday night in a hit and run accident. Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened near northwest 48th and I-80 around 7:30.

Wilken’s body was found nearly two 2 miles away from there, near northwest 27th and west O. Deputies suspect he was dragged.

“Our ability to gather information has been limited to the scene itself.  You know we still need to locate people who have first hand knowledge of this crash,” says Sheriff Terry Wagner.

Originally, Lancaster County Sheriff’s officials were on the look out for a white Chevy or Ford pickup seen in the area around the time of the accident. But after several interviews and reviewing video surveillance, they’re now also looking for a dark colored van. It may have a ladder attached to the back door.

“It may not have been the vehicle that struck Wilken, but it may be the vehicle behind the vehicle that struck Wilken. It’s just another vehicle, another driver we need to interview for any information that might have,” says Wagner.

He says several people have been questioned and several vehicles have been inspected since the crash, but deputies still need more information.

Wilken is being honored  by a Friday afternoon motorcycle procession at Frontier Harley Davidson  followed by a funeral service.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department at 402–441–6500.
