NSAA approves bowling as fully sanctioned sport
It is the first sport added at the high school level in Nebraska since softball in 1993.

LINCOLN – High school bowlers earned a strike on Thursday.
The NSAA Representative Assembly voted bowling as a fully sanctioned sport. The final tally was 31-20. It is the first sport added at the high school level in Nebraska since softball in 1993.
The NSAA recently only recognized bowling as only a unified sport since 2016. It held a state championship for both boys and girls bowlers in December each of the last three years.
Now, male and female bowlers will have their own seasons and state championships.
