NSP issues over 460 citations during “Click It or Ticket” campaign
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – During the 2021 “Click It or Ticket” campaign, Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol assisted 215 motorists and removed 13 impaired drivers from the road over the Thanksgiving weekend. The campaign ran from Wednesday, November 24th through Sunday, November 28th.
“Good weather made for safe travel conditions across much of our state over (the) Thanksgiving weekend,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “As the winter months approach, now is the time to begin preparing for winter driving.”
In addition to the 13 arrests for impaired driving, troopers also issued citations for:
- 413 citations for speeding
- 21 citations for driving under suspension
- Three citations for open alcohol containers
- Three citations for a minor in possession
- 10 citations for no proof of insurance
- 10 citations for no seat belt
- Five citations for improper child restraint
As the winter season approaches, Nebraska State Patrol urges Nebraskans to prepare. On November, 30th, the Nebraska Department of Transportation announced improvements to the Nebraska 511 system, found at www.511.nebraska.gov. In addition to winter driving conditions, the system also now includes weather radar, severe weather warnings, a commercial vehicle mode, and other improvements.
