Osborn Estranged Wife Asks For Order To Be Lifted

A protection order issued against NebraskaState Treasurer Shane Osborn has been lifted at the request of his estranged wife.

Teri Osborn took out a protection order against her husband this week, alleging he physically abused her and enlisted the help of “spies'' to monitor her activities.

In response, Shane Osborn asked the Douglas County District Court to order a psychological evaluation for his wife. He also asked to be awarded temporary custody of the couple's three children.

The protection order was lifted Friday. Shane Osborn said outside court that Teri decided to ask for it to be lifted so their divorce proceedings could continue amicably.

He denies her allegations that he beat her. She and her lawyer declined to comment Friday.
