UPDATE: Investigators determined teacher shot by hunting partner

Pawnee county officials say Kade Reiman, a second-grade teacher at Bennet Elementary School, was accidentally shot while hunting with another person near Lewiston, Neb. over the weekend. 

BENNET, Neb. (KLKN) — UPDATE: Investigating officers concluded that a “series of unfortunate events” ended in Kade Reiman being killed by a bullet fired by a hunting partner, according to the Pawnee County Sheriff.

The Pawnee County Sherrif says the hunting partner shot the round at the doe and Reiman was in the line of fire due to light conditions at dusk and topography.

BENNET, Neb. (KLKN) — A tough week for the Palmyra school district.

Pawnee county officials say Kade Reiman, a second-grade teacher at Bennet Elementary School, was accidentally shot while hunting with another person near Lewiston, Neb. over the weekend.

Counselors and support staff have been available to help any student at Bennet Elementary or Palmyra High School. Reiman was an assistant football coach at the high school and was expected to be a junior high basketball coach.

Many people leaving messages on Facebook, saying Reiman left a positive impact on so many. One post saying his students and co-workers will never forget him, he touched so many lives in a positive way.

A prayer service for the Reiman familiy will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn.
