Lincoln police continue to piece together how the robbery in Havelock went down.

Like a scene from a movie,  LPD officers surround an apartment building, armed and ready.  It began with an anything but quiet Saturday morning in Havelock.  Two armed men, masked with bandanas, vault over the counters at the Great Western Bank and start grabbing cash from the safe.

Another man, grabs money from the cash drawers.

“A couple of individuals during the robbery that were lookouts at the time,” says Police Chief Jim Peschong.

A short time later the getaway vehicle was found at 17th and L.

“Also located in the vehicle was a bandana that matched the description of one that was worn or similar to one that was worn at the bank robbery,” says Peschong.

Police arrested a 17-year-old for accessory to a felony.  Later, they arrested Trenton Ziegenbein, Darruis Mason and Cleophus Collier for robbery.

Lincoln police know Cleophus well.  The 22–year–old was convicted of helping steal more than 80 firearms in 2007.

“He recently was released from the State Pen if you go back through your records, Cleophus was 1 of the individuals responsible for all the handguns being stolen at the Scheel's burglary,” says Peschong.

Police are still searching for 30 of those stolen guns.

In total, 7 men are in jail for the bank robbery, and police expect that number to go up as the investigation continues.

“It appears several individuals or individuals are assisting or hiding or covering up some of the money.”

Not all of the money has been recovered, and none of the weapons used during the robbery either.  Police would not say how much was taken.  No one was hurt during the robbery.

AGAIN NOT ALL OF THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECOVERED… AND NONE OF THE WEAPONS EITHER…  POLICE WOULD NOT SAY HOW MUCH WAS TAKEN IN TOTAL… BUT OF COURSE IF THERE IS ANY GOOD NEWS OUT OF THE ROBBERY, IT'S THAT NO ONE WAS HURT.
