LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A group of students at UNL sent an email out on Wednesday saying they will be stepping back from planning “revolutionary direct actions.”

In the email, they say the organizers are falling behind on assignments and need to take care of personal matters, as well as have time to self-reflect.

They are canceling all events previously planned by them for this week,

“We cannot be the voices for the silenced if we cannot hear them,” the email says. “These events are not just about FIJI, and this is a message that has been overlooked. We aim to change.”

The group plans to resume activities on September 15.
