Quiet New Year’s weekend
New Year’s Weekend is looking very mild and dry. The mild weather lasts into early next week, but a frontal boundary will bring a rain/mix chance Monday into Tuesday. We will also see much cooler air move in for the rest of next week.
On Saturday, we’ll be about 10 degrees above average for the afternoon high. There will be a mix of sun and clouds with a tolerable south breeze.
If you have plans to be out and about to ring in the new year, it looks like a really nice night! Temperatures at midnight will be around 32 degrees with partly cloudy skies.
For the first day of 2023, it’s looking mild with lots of cloud cover. Highs will be in the lower 40s to the north, upper 40s to the south.
Sunday night into Monday, there is the potential for a winter storm in the western half of the state. We’re keeping an eye on that potential, but for now, there is a Winter Storm Watch in place as a “heads up” that a winter storm is possible.
