Rain expected to arrive for second half of the weekend

Eyes are on a weather system moving through through the central Plains this weekend. This weather system will bring rain to southeast Nebraska late Saturday and through the day Sunday.

An area of low pressure will move in to Kansas Saturday. A warm front, extending from the low, will push north in to southern Nebraska Saturday night. Just ahead of the front, showers will begin to develop. I think an isolated shower will be possible anytime after 8 p.m. in the Lancaster County area. More widespread activity is expected to develop along the Nebraska/Kansas state line later Saturday night. This will move north, bringing rain and a few thunderstorms, in to Lincoln after midnight Sunday morning.

Thunderstorms will come to an end early Sunday morning but rain will remain possible through the rest of Sunday morning and in to the afternoon. Anywhere from a tenth of an inch to over an inch of rain will be possible through early Sunday evening.

If you have plans to be outdoors this weekend, do them Saturday!
