Rodriguez named a 1st-team All-American, two other Huskers honored

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska libero Lexi Rodriguez has been named a 1st-team All-American by the AVCA.

The freshman has had a record-breaking season for the Huskers, already been named the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Year. She’s compiled 498 digs this season.

Two other Huskers were honored by the AVCA on Wednesday. Kayla Caffey, a senior middle blocker, was a 2nd-team All-American selection. She recorded 230 kills on a .379 hitting percentage this season.

Junior outside hitter Madi Kubik is a 3rd-team selection on the AVCA All-America team. She led the Huskers with 380 kills this season.

Nicklin Hames, a senior setter, was an honorable mention All-American.
