Nebraska sophomore Sam Haiby earned her second spot on the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Honor Roll when the conference announced its weekly awards on Monday, Dec. 16.

Haiby, a 5-9 guard from Moorhead, Minn., poured in 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while adding five rebounds and a career-high four steals in Nebraska’s win over Oral Roberts at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Saturday. Haiby hit a three-pointer and went 3-for-3 at the free throw line while also contributing an assist as Nebraska improved to 9-1 on the season.

It was Haiby’s second 20-point scoring performance of the season, joining her career-high 28-point effort in an overtime win at Missouri on Nov. 10. Her game at Mizzou also helped Haiby win a spot on the first Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll this season (Nov. 11).

Through 10 games as a starter, Haiby is averaging 10.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals for the Huskers, who are off to their best 10-game start since 2014-15.

Haiby and the Huskers return to action this Sunday, Dec. 22, when they take on Manhattan. Tip-off between the Big Red and the Jaspers is set for noon at Pinnacle Bank Arena, and tickets are on sale now through the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at
