WASHINGTON, D.C. (KLKN) – Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse joined 49 other Republican senators in an attempt to block President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate.

Sasse and the other senators plan to block the vaccine mandate under the Congressional Review Act.

The Congressional Review Act joint resolution of disapproval, if successfully passed by both houses of Congress and the president, can rule an issue as invalidated.

This comes after OSHA briefly halted the implementation of Biden’s vaccine mandate due to last week’s Fifth Circuit ruling.

“I’m pro-vaccine but these mandates aren’t going to beat the pandemic – they’re going to grow government and erode trust in these near-miracle drugs. Nebraskans deserve better,” said Sasse.

According to a press release, the senators can set up a floor vote as soon as early December.
