Service announced for fallen Nebraska firefighter Mike Moody

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Details of fallen firefighter Mike Moody’s funeral were announced Wednesday.

Moody, assistant chief of the Purdum Volunteer Fire Department, died Sunday after suffering a medical emergency while fighting the Bovee Fire. He was 59.

Moody’s funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Sandhills High School in Dunning.

Those planning to attend are asked to dress in plaid shirts with bright colors and overalls.

Organizers ask mourners to send memorial contributions to the Purdum department and/or Thedford Volunteer Fire & Rescue in lieu of flowers.

The funeral will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s website.
