Several storm chances this week
There are quite a few chances for storms in the coming days. It won’t rain all the time, but each day will have a storm chance!
For tonight, storms are possible in western Nebraska. These will dissipate shortly after sunset.
Along with a storm chance late Wednesday, we do have a warm day headed our way. Highs will be in the upper 80s and low 90s.
The heat index will push into the middle and upper 90s for much of the eastern half of the state.
As we move through Wednesday, storms are going to become very likely. See below for the timing and location.
Above is what our StormCast weather model is saying for timing, duration, and location of the storms.
The main threat from the storms late Wednesday into early Thursday will be damaging wind. Wind gusts from these storms will be between 60 and 75 mph. The tornado threat is small.
Hail will also be possible with 1″ to 1.5″ hail possible.
Storms will try to drop some heavy rain, too. Spots directly under thunderstorms that do form may see 1-2″ of rain.
