Severe weather and heavy rain possible
We have a couple of days of severe weather possibilities and then a heavy rain threat into the weekend. Lots to be prepared for!
We start with a severe weather risk on Friday. Storms will start to form late morning in the green shaded area, then move southeast towards Kansas. Hail and some damaging wind will be possible.
Above is what our StormCast weather model is saying for timing, duration, and location of the storms on Friday.
Moving into the weekend, storms are possible for much of the state with severe weather possible. There is a large level 2 “Slight Risk” in place where storms are most likely. Timing will show storms in rolling through this area on and off through Saturday.
Above is what our StormCast weather model is saying for timing, duration, and location of the storms Saturday into Sunday.
Quite a bit of rain is possible Friday, Saturday, into Sunday.
Because of the heavy rain potential, we have a low, medium, and high risk for excessive rainfall through early Sunday with Flash Flooding a possibility. Some areas shaded in red may see a half of a foot of rain.
We dry out by early next week, but there are more storm chances the 2nd half of the week.
