LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Canadian man was arrested last week after Seward County deputies found several pounds of ecstasy in his car, the sheriff’s office says.

On Saturday, a deputy tried pulling over a Chevy Tahoe for numerous traffic violations on Interstate 80.

But the driver refused to stop and sped west, according to the sheriff’s office.

State troopers and York County deputies were then called in to help with the pursuit.

Southwest of Grand Island, authorities set up spike strips, which deflated three of the vehicle’s tires.

The driver then pulled over to the shoulder, and deputies took him into custody.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found a loaded handgun and about 6.6 pounds of MDMA, which is also known as ecstasy.

The Canadian man, whom the sheriff’s office did not identify, was lodged in the Seward County Jail.
