Southwest High students hold “Food Blitz” for charity

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Future Business Leaders of America at Southwest High School are hosting a “Food Blitz” food drive on Saturday to help stock the shelves of the People’s City Mission.

The Southwest FBLA has been holding the “Food Blitz” for nine years at Russ’s Markets and Super Savers throughout Lincoln.

To participate you can go to one of the stores, get a flier from a student before you shop, then donate the item as you’re leaving the store. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Store locations and cooperating school organizations include 

  • Super Saver at 27th and Pine Lake – Lincoln Southwest FBLA
  • Super Saver at Fallbrook – Lincoln North Star FBLA and DECA
  • Russ’s at 33rd and Hwy 2 – Lincoln Southeast FBLA and DECA
  • Russ’s at 66th and O St. – Lincoln East FBLA and DECA
  • Russ’s at Havelock – Lincoln Northeast FBLA
