Storm chances are increasing

The chance for storms is back in the forecast and increases in potential each day. By the weekend, there’s a decent chance some of us will see some severe weather. Temperatures are on the way up, too.

Bike Drive
It’s going to be warm and windy for our Bike Drive on Thursday. There’s a small chance for an isolated storm in Lincoln early in the morning, then again later in the evening.

State Forecast Highs Tomorrow

Afternoon highs will be in the 80s for most of Nebraska and near 90 in SW Nebraska.

Wind Gusts

The wind will pick up by the early morning and with a sustained wind of 15 to 30 mph, wind gusts will generally be in the 30 to 35 mph range, with a few gusts nearing 40-45 mph.

Spc02

Most of the southern half of the state has a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe storms late Thursday afternoon and evening. These storms will be very isolated in nature and a lot of this area will not see any storms. However, those in the shaded area do have the chance.

Friday also has a chance for some severe weather in south central and SE Nebraska. The better chance for storms will be in the yellow shaded area to our southeast, but one or two strong storms Friday evening will be possible.

Sunday also has a chance for severe weather and does include more of Nebraska this time. Something to keep a close eye on!
