Storms tonight, dry out begins tomorrow

Strong to severe storms are possible tonight with heavy rain mixed in. We start to dry out Thursday, but a few spot showers are still possible. Friday into the weekend looks amazing.

There is a level 1-2 Marginal to Slight Risk for severe weather Wednesday night.

A quick spin-up tornado is possible when the storms move through. These would be short lived, but could have winds in excess of 90 mph if they get going.

Damaging wind gusts are possible with storms that can get severe. These wind gusts might gust up to 65 mph at times.

The heavy rain threat continues through the overnight into very early Thursday.

Recent model runs are showing 1-4″ possible in south central and eastern Nebraska through early Thursday morning.

A Flood Watch is in place through Thursday, but the heavy rain will be over by early Thursday morning. Still, linger flood concerns may last through the day.

Clouds and spot showers are still possible on Thursday and this should limit any kind of warming. Highs will be in the 60s for most of the state.

The sun comes back out for Friday, but it’ll still be a little cool out.
