LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Organizers have planned a homecoming parade for Syracuse fire chief, Eric Fass, who will be returning home from rehabilitation on Friday, December 3.
Fass suffered a serious brain injury while moving livestock at the Otoe County Fair back in July. After a successful surgery, Fass began the healing process at Madonna Rehabilitation.
Organizers say the homecoming celebration parade for Fass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 4. The lineup for the parade begins at 9:45 a.m. on 26th Road.
According to a post on Caring Bridge, organizers are asking parade-goers to decorate their vehicles with balloons and signs to show their support for the family.
Christa Reisdorff and Melissa Wellensiek have organized a meal train to assist the family during this time. People are able to reach out to organizers to donate gift cards or meals to the family.
