Temperatures drop nearly 30° Wednesday

A cold front is slowly moving through Nebraska Tuesday night.  It will continue to drop southeast through the overnight.  Once the front passes, winds will shift out of the north.  A few wind gusts to 25 mph will be possible during the overnight.

Cold air is lagging behind the cold front but will arrive for Wednesday.  While this will not be bitterly cold air, it will be a shock to your body after Tuesday’s temperatures in the middle 70°s.  High temperatures Wednesday afternoon should near 30° cooler than Tuesday with highs in the upper 40°s to 50°.

Below normal temperatures will hang around through Friday morning.  Friday afternoon should come with gusty southerly winds sending temperatures back to the middle 50°s.

Long range computer models suggest the final 10 days of the month should be below normal with highs in the 40°s.
