TV Legend, And Nebraska Native Johnny Carson Dies At The Age Of 79
The man known as the king of late-night t-v has died. Former tonight show host, Johnny Carson passed away “peacefully'' Sunday morning, from complications of emphysema at the age of 79. Carson was born in Corning, Iowa, but lived in Norfolk, Nebraska from age-8 until he joined the navy. After graduating from UNL, Johnny worked in radio and television in Omaha, before moving on to hosting game-shows on the national scene. He then hosted the “tonight show” from 1962 to 1992.
