UNL police searching for suspect after reported sexual assault on campus
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln police department is asking students and faculty to be on high alert after a reported sexual assault on campus.
The incident happened Wednesday morning around 10:30 a.m. UNLPD says a man turned around and grabbed the butt of a woman walking in the opposite direction on the east sidewalk next to the Courtyards near N. 17th St. and Vine St.
UNLPD describes the suspect as a dark-complected male with black hair and is approximately six feet tall. He was last seen wearing a grey and black jacket with grey sweatpants and dark colored shoes.
The department is urging students to contact officers if they feel unsafe at all.
“The goal is to provide information so the UNL community has awareness of the situation and can take precautions for their own safety, as well as to encourage reporting of similar situations to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln police,” UNLPD said in a statement on Wednesday.
