UPDATE: Victims identified in crash on I-80 that killed 2

Authorities identified the two victims as 30-year-old David Hardy Jr of Omaha and 30-year-old Sabrina Reynolds of Omaha.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – According to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, two people were killed and one person was injured after a vehicle crossed a median near mile marker 432 and was struck by an oncoming semi.

Authorities said, on Saturday shortly after 3 p.m. a grey, GMC Envoy was driving eastbound on I-80 in the area of mile marker 434. The driver crossed the median and the Envoy was struck by a westbound blue 2019 Kenworth Semi tracker and 53’ flatbed trailer.

The male driver and female front seat passenger of the Envoy were deceased at the scene, officials said. A female passenger from the rear of the Envoy was transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital in critical condition where she remains in critical condition at this time. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Weather conditions at the time of the incident were poor due to blowing snow in the area.

Westbound traffic was closed on Saturday while the crash was investigated, but has reopened at this time.
