Very cold air is here
Friday is going to be cold again. Temperatures will start in the double digits below zero and barely make it above zero by the afternoon. This is before the wind is factored in.
Unfortunately, the wind will be sustained at 20-25 mph all day with wind gusts in the 35 mph range. That makes cold temperatures like we’re going to see very dangerous.
We’ll start the day with wind chills in the 30 to 35 below range and then eventually into the teens to around 20 below. If not dressed properly, being outside for too long will lead to hypothermia and frostbite.
Early Friday morning, the wind chill (above) is expected to be anywhere from 30 to 40 degrees below zero.
Our actual temperatures will range from near 0 to our east, to around 10 further south and west.
Wind Chill Warnings are in place because of these bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills through Saturday.
