Waverly Vikings remain dominant with shutout of Norris Titans

FIRTH, Neb. (KLKN) – The Vikings marched in and dominated in their week four matchup against the Titans.

On Friday, the Norris Titans hosted the Waverly Vikings for the first time in nearly six years.

Waverly left Firth with a 42-0 win over Norris.

In the Vikings’ first drive, Evan Kastens drove into the end zone with a 23-yard run, making it 7-0.

The Titans struggled to get anything going offensively.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Waverly struck again as Trey Jackson put up another six with a 2-yard run.

Now leading 14-0, Norris quarterback Jacob Godtel scrambled out of the pocket and threw it away, while Cooper Skrobecki pulled it in for the pick.

The Vikings capitalized on the turnover with a 2-yard run from Charlie Johnson, which made it 21-0.

Norris’ offensive woes continued until the clock stopped.

The Vikings are now 3-1 on the season, while the Titans sit at 1-3.

Next week, Waverly will face York at home.

Norris was set to play Lincoln Northwest next week, but on Friday, Northwest announced that it had canceled the rest of its varsity season.
