Where to get tested for COVID-19 in Nebraska

Covid 19 Testitng

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) — We asked the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services how and where residents can get tested for the COVID-19 virus.  Here’s what we learned:

  • There are a limited number of tests available, so testing is decided on a case by case basis depending on symptoms, travel history and contact history.
  • Asymptomatic people are not being tested.  Tests are generally reserved for high-risk individuals
  • Call your doctor: If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice.
  • Call ahead: If you have a medical appointment, call your doctor’s office or emergency department, and tell them you have or may have COVID-19. This will help the office protect themselves and other patients.
  • Review the CDC’s What to Do If You’re Sick information
