X-Husker Raises Money For Cancer

Most husker fans will never forget the hits Grant Wistrom put on quarterbacks during his years as a husker and now he's helping in the battle against cancer.

Wistrom began working with kids who had cancer his senior year at Nebraska. Since then, he's established his own foundation to help them. One of the main yearly events of Grant Wistrom's Foundation is a fundraiser and golf tournament. Which kicked off Friday night in Lincoln at Memorial Stadium.

One of the kids at the fund raiser was twelve year old Alex Ford who was diagnosed with cancer six months ago. Alex is a big sports fan and found Grant Wistrom's Foundation fundraiser is just what the doctor ordered. Its the former huskers' objective to help children like Alex, raising money for cancer research and providing them with opportunities many of us take for granted.
