Another gorgeous day ahead
Thursday was an absolute gem of a day from the start to finish with highs in the upper-70s to low-80s along with lots of sunshine.
As of Thursday evening, there is a boundary positioned over central Nebraska which is firing some light showers. These should primarily remain to the north and west of the Tri-Cities, closer to Central City, Greeley, Ord, and Broken Bow. We keep some clouds overnight Thursday. Lincoln appears to remain dry with a low in the middle-50s.
Skies should remain mostly clear to partly cloudy on Friday. Fair-weather cumulus clouds will likely blanket the sky during the heat of the day. Highs should be slightly warmer, in the low to mid-80s in Lincoln.
The same boundary that sparked the shower activity in central Nebraska on Thursday will lift to the north for Friday. As a result, some showers are possible in the northern parts of the state on Friday.
Some computer model guidance has suggested a few of these showers could develop as far south as Saunders county. Time will tell whether or not this comes to fruition, but know that the best chance to see one of these stray showers will be mainly north of Lincoln. The overall odds of seeing one of these showers in Lincoln do appear to be small as of now.
Rain chances start to increase over the weekend. Isolated showers are possible in Lincoln early Saturday before another potential round of storm activity arrives later in the evening. In addition to that, isolated storms cannot be ruled out on Sunday.
Despite the storm chances, each day will not be a total loss. There will be several dry periods over the weekend. In fact, if the scattered storms dodge you completely, you may stay totally dry on some days.
