Full Moon Tonight!
The full “Buck” moon is happening tonight and not only that, it’s a full “Buck” supermoon!
The moon will rise above the horizon just after 9:30pm Wednesday night and because it’s a supermoon, it will appear 17% bigger and 30% brighter. It is called a “supermoon” because it will be closest to the earth that it can get in its orbit, which is approximately 220,000 miles away. The forecast at moonrise will be mostly clear with a temperature around 85 degrees.
As we head into tomorrow, we really start to warm up. Temperatures are going to get into the middle 90s by the afternoon. There will be plenty of sunshine and a gusty south wind at 10 to 25 mph.
The dewpoint will be a little high, too, so the heat index will climb a few degrees warmer than the actual temperatures. We’ll see the upper 90s and maybe a few 100s by the afternoon.
