Radar 11:52pm Monday

ORIGINAL STORY:

A Severe T’Storm Watch is in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday for portions of central Nebraska. In this region, any storms are capable of producing damaging winds and/or large hail on Monday night. The tornado potential appears to be low.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch

On Monday night, we expect some shower and thunderstorm development in north-central Nebraska. These storms will track east and southeast as the evening wears on. While they may attempt to arrive near Grand Island, Central City, or Columbus through the evening, they will likely be weakening on approach. We expect most of the showers to fizzle out before they reach Lincoln.

There may be a few remnant clouds arriving in Lincoln from the northwest on Monday night. However, much of the night should be mostly clear. Low temperatures on Tuesday morning should be in the low to mid-70s.

Monday Night Forecast

Tuesday will be a scorcher! We expect mostly sunny skies with high temperatures near 102° in Lincoln.

Tuesday Forecast

The humidity will be in full force on Tuesday. Once the humidity is factored in, we could be dealing with heat indices upwards of 110° in select locations on Tuesday afternoon. For that reason, a Heat Advisory has been issued for all of central Nebraska.

Heat Advisory

A weak disturbance passes on Wednesday. This may be enough to bump our temperatures down a few notches by mid-week.
