Summer-like temperatures and storm chances for mid-September

Another cool, crisp evening is in store for us as overnight low temperatures Sunday into Monday will drop into the upper 40s again. Looking across southeast Nebraska, similar temperatures can be expected with clear skies and light west winds allowing the heat of the day to radiate away from Earth’s surface. This will be one of the last cooler nights for a while as temperatures rebound to summer-like conditions early this week.

Dma Tonight Low

As part of the overall warming trend with high pressure building in from the west, more sunshine can be expected for Monday. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s as we stay dry through the first half of the week. Winds will remain light until they shift to be out of the south on Tuesday, bringing in warmer air.

Skycast Tomorrow

Dew point temperatures will hover around the “comfort line” which we set at about 60 degrees. That will remain the case through most of the week until storm chances increase by Thursday with moisture returning back to our low levels of the atmosphere.

Rain is in the forecast for the end of the week. The best chance for us to see precipitation looks to be Thursday night and again on Friday night. The front will not be as strong as the one we saw this past weekend, but it will bring possibility of rain accumulations once more!
